New Zealand Four Wheel Drive Association Inc.

The Department of Conservation have renewed the agreement with the NZFWDA on management of the Maratoto 4WD route but have added some new levels of requirements for addressing Kauri Die Back.  Those rules are attached as a PDF.

It will be important to  ensure that any vehicles entering that Maratoto route are clean of mud etc. to ensure there is no transfering of soil and waterborne diseases or pathogens.

The Maratoto 4WD route is not yet open to vehicle use due to weather related delays to maintenance work required by DOC.
